Your conference planning team has attempted to pack 5 days of
conference quality into 3 action-packed days. General sessions and
Breakout sessions are designed to blend a focus on "Diverse
Students" with topics of general interest and topics specific to the
CAID Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
General Sessions
We are planning three general sessions that promise to be
enlightening, insightful and entertaining.
Topic Strands
You will note that SIG Sessions and SIG meetings will be
interspersed with Concurrent Sessions:
1. Concurrent Sessions = General Topics that relate to
characteristics of diverse students and teaching strategies (at
any level K-college) that address their learning needs; and,
2. SIG Sessions = SIG-related Topics that address one of eight CAID
SIG areas:
Mathematics
Science
& Technology
Teachers of English Language Arts (TELA)
Mainstreaming (SWIM)
Deaf Studies
Educational Interpreters
Counselors
Dorm Supervisors / Staff and Others
Program Supervisors / Coordinators / Consultants
3. Poster Sessions = Poster Presentation, a visual display
showcasing an innovative advising program, research, or activity.
