INVITATION TO CAID CONFERENCE 2009
Educating Diverse Students: Language, Culture
& Learning
The Council of American Instructors of the Deaf (CAID) invites you
to join your colleagues at the first East Coast CAID conference of
the new millennium! We are pleased to announce that CAID 2009 is
co-hosted by the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at
Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
The conference, consistent with the "new" CAID organization, is
intended to make contact with, and bring together, teaching and
learning support colleagues who are working with DIVERSE deaf and
hard of hearing students in DIVERSE educational environments.
Please consider taking this unique opportunity to meet with us in
Washington, D.C. The combination of stimulating dialogue and new
found friendships will inspire you to develop novel strategies and
to take new risks with your students… Guaranteed!!
The conference location on the Gallaudet University campus will
allow participants an opportunity to experience the present while
surrounded by history. Consider combining this unique professional
opportunity with some R & R. Families should know that Washington is
“magical” for kids!
Additionally… Please consider sharing some of your teaching/learning
insights and submit a
presentation
proposal.
Consistent with the conference theme, we encourage diversity in
presentation content and focus. We welcome submissions by seasoned
presenters, as well as first time presenters, and offer to work with
individuals on the development of proposals.
